She stated that the Council is concerned that
homes being moved in are compatible with existing homes in the neighborhood, and that Council
requested consideration be given to prohibiting the moving of structures into the City's Urban
district. She stated that if the Commission was in agreement with Council, then City Staff is
seeking direction to research architectural standards and composition of an architectural review
committee.

Commissioner Terry suggested not allowing accessory structures or buildings to be moved into the
City.

Commissioner Deemer suggested limiting the size of the structures.

Ms. Frolik stated a survey showed that several surrounding communities allow this, and she
inquired whether absolutely prohibiting the moving in of structures would be discriminative.

Chairperson Bawden stated he has seen homes that have been moved in that are better than the
other homes in the area, but at the same time he feels that new construction can do the same thing.

Motion by Commissioner Terry and seconded by Commissioner Deemer directing City Staff to
draft an ordinance that would ban moving principal or accessory structures into the City that are
larger than 280 sq. ft. or the maximum square footage for which the Uniform Building Code
allows construction of without footings, whichever figure is smaller.

Motion carried.
