CHANGE ORDER NO. 2

Project: g91-01; Highway gl0 Sanita.D, Sewer and Waterman Extension
Cm-~iractor: Richard Knutson, inc.
Current Contract Amount: $143,363.45 (includes C.O. #I

Description of Changes:

Item No. 1: Restoration of paved areas with Class V.

The project was bid with the intention that all disturbed areas would be restored with bituminous.
Because the ParaBody property wanted to perform modifications to their drainage system which
would require disturbing the restored pavement, it was determined that the contractor restore the
areas with only Class V base. Since there was no unit price for only Class V restoration, a unit
price of $1.68 per square yard was negotiated with the contractor. A total of 1803 square yards
was restored in this manner. The change in contract price is as follows:

1803 Sq. Yd. @ $1.68 per sq. yd. = $3,029.04

Item No. 2: Extra thickness bituminous restoration.

The project was bid on the basis that pavement replacement would be paid for on a per square yard
unit price. Since all of the disturbed pavement was in private easement areas, the thickness of the
pavement was unknown, tt was anticipated that some areas could have thicknesses greater than the
minimum 2" thickness included in the bid unit price and the contract documents specified that this
extra depth would be compensated on a per ton basis. Extra thick bituminous was encountered on
the project and should be compensated according to the provision in the contract documents. The
contractor was charged a unit price of $23.39 per ton. The contract documents allowed a mark up
of 15%. The area receiving extra depth is illustrated in Figure A. The change in contract price is
as follows:

101 ton x $23.39/ton x 1.I5 = $2,716.75

Item No. 3: Extra 2" copper.

Change Order No. 1 established a price for 2" copper service at $13.79 per foot and estimated that
290 feet would be installed. Final measurement shows that 315 was actually installed. The
contractor should be compensated at the established unit price for the copper service actually
installed. The change in contract price is as follows:

25 feet @ S13.79 = $344.75
Item No. 4: Hydrant extension.

Standard hydrants are placed in sections anticipated to have 7.5 feet of frost protection cover over
the watermain. Because the waterrnain was placed down the ditchline. The hydrant needed to be
raised with a one foot hydrant extension. The contractor should be compensated for the additional
material and labor required based upon time and materials. The change in contract price is as
follows:

1 foot hydrant extension and labor

$329.50
