CC Work Session 3. 2. <br />Meeting Date: 05/26/2015 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Discuss Approach for Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to discuss various documents reviewed by the Planning Commission related to the <br />upcoming Comprehensive Plan Update. Later in 2015, the Metropolitan Council will issue revised System <br />Statements, officially beginning the process to update local comprehensive plans. <br />The intent of this case is to ensure that the current framework and and draft work plans work plans are headed in <br />line with the policy directives of the City Council. <br />The current Comprehensive Plan can be found online at www.cityoframsey.com/comprehensiveplan. Due to file <br />size, the entire plan is not attached to this case, but is available in PDF or print version upon request. <br />Timeframe: <br />30 minutes. <br />Funding Source: <br />This case is being handled as part of normal Staff duties. <br />Responsible Party(ies): <br />Community Development Director <br />Outcome: <br />The desired outcome of this case is to receive feedback on the attached documents as Staff prepares a final work <br />plan to update the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />A key policy discussion of this topic report should be the proper scope of the update. At minimum, the City will <br />need to update its system plans to reflect new growth forecasts. These system plans include the Land Use Plan, <br />Transportation Plan, and Water Resources Plan.
