I
I
I
I
I
I
I
i
i

CASE

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET (EAW)
ON 153RD CONNECTION BETWEEN VARIOLITE STREET N.W.
AND COUNTY ROAD g83 (ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD N.W.)
By: James Gromberg, Project Manager

Background:

As directed by the City Council on July 13, 1993, the City has scheduled a public hearing
to receive public input on the EAW for the proposed connection of 153rd Avenue N.W.
between Variolite Street N.W. and Armstrong Boulevard N.W. This process includes the
production and the publication of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet. This
worksheet has been sent to the distribution list provided by the Environmental Quality
Board and has been published in the July 5, 1993 EQB Monitor Newsletter. The City
Council, with any citizen input received at this evening's public hearing and any input
received from the affected parties, will rule on the EAW on September 14, 1993.

Council is reminded that this public hearing is to discuss the EAW only. It is not for the
discussion of the value of the road, if the road should be constructed, or any other issue
connected to the 153rd Avenue crosstown arterial. Residents who have questions
concerning this document should state those issues. If a resident has other questions, they
should be addressed during the public input or at a future City Council Meeting.

Listed below is a tentative schedule for the completion of the EAW process and the
construction of the roadway.

I
I
I

~tem

1.
