I I I I I I I I I I '1 I I I I I I ORDINANCE g92- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9 AND REPEALING SECTION 9.12 ENTITLED "SIGNS". The City Council of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota hereby ordains: SECTION 1. SUMMARY The following official summary of Ordinance 4/92- has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance: It is the intent and effect of Ordinance g92- to amend the regulations for signs in all districts of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota. A printed copy of Ordinance g92-. is available for inspection by any person at the Ramsey Municipal Center. This Ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and thirty (30) days after publication according to law. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT Section 9.12 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: 9.12 SIGNS 9.12.01 PURPOSE The purpose of this ordinance is to protect and promote the general welfare, health, safety and order within the City of Ramsey through the establishment of a comprehensive and impartial series of standards, regulations and procedures governing the erection, use and/or display of devices, signs or symbols serving as a visual communicative media to persons situated within or upon public right-of-ways or properties. The provisions of this ordinance are intended to encourage creativity, a reasonable degree of freedom of choice, an opportunity for effective communication and a sense of concern for the visual amenities on the part of those designing, displaying or otherwise utilizing needed communicative media for the types regulated by this ordinance, while at the same time assuring that the public health and welfare is not endangered. 9.12.02 DEFINITIONS Page 1 of 19
