I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #93-10- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION A TRAFFIC SPEED STUDY ON 167TH AVENUE N.W. BETWEEN T.H. #47 AND COUNTY ROAD #5 WHEREAS, a speed limit study was last conducted for this segment of roadway in 1983; and WHEREAS, the substantial growth of the City may have substantially altered traffic volumes during that period; and WHEREAS, the City has received a request from citizens adjacent to said roadway to reconsider the speed limit; and WHEREAS, the State requires a traffic study be performed before setting or changing the speed limits on said roadway. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study by Mn/DOT on the segment of 167th Avenue N.W. between T.H. #47 and County Road #5 for the purpose of determining appropriate speed limits. That upon completion of the traffic study, the City Engineer shall report to the Council the findings of Mn/DOT. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council on this 26th day of October, 1993.
