I <br />I <br /> <br />LOT <br /> <br /> CASE <br /> <br /> PROPOSED SALE OF <br />3, BLOCK $, BEAUDRY'S 2ND ADDITION <br />By: James Gromberg, Project Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />As you know, earlier this year the City Council approved a Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) project which consisted of allocating approximately $17,900 to thc Anoka County <br />Community Action Program (ACCAP). The stipulation associated with the allocation was that <br />ACCAP would use the funds to purchase a lot in the City of Ramsey. ACCAP would then <br />construct a home on thc lot for which a moderate income family would qualify for a home <br />mortgage. The selected parcel on which the home was proposed to be developed was Lot 6, Block <br />2, Gorham's Sandy Acres. <br /> <br />During recent discussions with the City Council, there have been some concerns regarding <br />drainage and the ability to build on that lot in Gorham's Sandy Acres. With these problems in <br />mind, the City staff is recommending the sale of Lot 3, Block 5, Beaudry's 2nd Addition instead. <br />This lot was acquired by the City for tax delinquency in 1993. In order to facilitate the sale, the <br />City must clear the title to the lot by paying the appraised tax value of $8,807.55. It may then sell <br />the property to Anoka County Community Action Program (ACCAP) after conducting a public <br />hearing as required by City Charter. It is intended that once we clear the title to this lot, we will <br />operate under the same agreement with ACCAP as previously contemplated.
