Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #93-11- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION A TRAFFIC SPEED STUDY ON I$3RD AVENUE N.W. BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD #56 AND COUNTY ROAD #$7. WHEREAS, a speed limit study was last conducted for this segment of roadway in 1991, shortly after the road was constructed; and WHEREAS, data having significance in establishing a speed limit such as accident history were previously unavailable at time of the initial speed study; and WHEREAS, neighbors in the Hematite Street N.W./l$3rd Avenue N.W. intersection area have expressed concern over the adequacy of the existing speed limit posting; and WHEREAS, the State requires a traffic study be performed before setting or changing the speed limits on said roadway. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study by the Minnesota Department of Transportation on the segment of 153rd Avenue N.W. between County Road #56 and County Road #57 for the purpose of determining appropriate speed limits. 2) That upon completion of the traffic study, the City Engineer shall report to the City Council the findings of the Minnesota Department of Transpomtion. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 9th day of November, 1993.
