Your name was offered to me as the authority with regard to this charge. The City of Ramsey, located in West Central Anoka County, is advantaged by both State Highways #47 and U.S. Highway #10 and #169. The two highways each comprise approximately 5.5 miles. The City is very interested in highway beautification consisting of landscaping the right-of-way and replacing our stark city entrance signs with ones that have a appealing visual blend with the natural world. Recent improvement of the City's zoning and advertising enforcement is something that we believe compliments these objectives. Staff is encouraged to learn that there may be Mn/DOT planning and .possibly cost sharing of landscaping and view shed beautification endeavors. The City may have the ability to garner both in-house and volunteer resources that may aid in the economic feasibility of flower and tree establishment and maintenance in our State Highway fight-of-ways. We request your thoughts on the above and respectfully propose that you or one of your delegates entertain the possibility of a meeting with our City Administrator, Rvan Schroeder and me.
