Chairman Zimmerman <br />noted that those are questions for the City Engineer; the Commission is <br />only concerned with the Urban Area boundaries. Jean Schlueter, 15011 <br />Juniper Ridge Drive, noted that she had just presented a petition to the <br />City Council for the Rum Acres Estates and Gorham's Sandy Acres requesting <br />that the City Engineer do a study on the impact of municipal water on these <br />existing subdivisions. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman noted that the Commission held a public hearing on this <br />matter on April 5, 1988. Ms. Schlueter commented that she was concerned <br />that the citizens seem to be the last to know; didn't the Council make a <br />commitment to the developers of River's Bend and Flintwood Hills to not <br />expand the urban development until the existing urban areas are complete? <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Holm to table <br />action on the proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment pending direction from <br />the City Council as to whether Planning Commission input is desired. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Commissioner LaDue suggested that the motion be <br />amended to include a request that the City Engineer provide a report as to <br />the impact on existing subdivisions of the extension of utilities to that <br />area. Commissioners Shumway and Holm agreed to amend their motion to <br />include this request. <br /> <br />Pation carried. Voting yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />Holm, LaDue, Shumway and Terry. Voting no: None. Absent: Commissioner <br />Howell. <br /> <br />Request fQ[_ Preliminary _Approval o.f...a.._Planned Un.it <br />D_evelopment: Case of Mr. George.Carlson and Ri.~.r~!.s..Bend <br /> <br />Mr. Carlson was present and reviewed his plans with the Commission. <br />Chairman Zimmerman noted that this review is required by the Scenic River <br />Overlay district requirements; Chairman Zimmerman asked whether the DNR had <br />reviewed the site plan. Mr. Carlson stated that Mr. Stine, DNR, had and <br />had requested that the building be located 12' to the west. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to <br />recommend approval of the preliminary development plans for the apartment <br />project proposed by George Carlson and River's Bend Properties. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />Holm, LaDue, Shumway and Terry. Voting no: None.
