CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember Randy Backous <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jason Tossey <br />Councilmember Jeffrey Wise <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurds Ulrich <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Interview Applicants to Fill Board and Commission Vacancies <br />Human Resources Representative Lasher stated that staff began the annual recruitment and <br />selection process to fill seats on the EDA, DPB, Park and Recreation Commission and the <br />Planning Commission in November 2011, for the seats that were set to expire on March 31, <br />2012. The vacancies were advertised in the Ramsey Resident, The Anoka County Union, the <br />City's website, QCTV, the January utility billing statements, and the City's email notification <br />system. She stated there are 17 individuals to interview this evening to fill eight vacancies. <br />She noted these are four-year terms except for the EDA, which is six years. <br />Following interviews, consensus was to recommend the following individuals to be appointed: <br />Wayne Skaff Economic Dev. Authority April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2018 6 Years <br />Robert Bentz Environmental Policy Board April 1, 2012 to march 31, 2016 4 Years <br />Michael Hiatt Environmental Policy Board April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2016 4 Years <br />Larry Lewis Environmental Policy Board April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2016 4 Years <br />Tom Stodola Environmental Policy Board April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2016 4 Years <br />City Council Work Session / March 13, 2012 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
