Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request To Rezone Certain Parcels ~Within Riversid~ W~ From <br /> B-1 Business To R-1U Urban Residential~ Case Of Thorp Finance: <br /> <br />Mr. Otto stated that Thorp Finance has been unsuccessful in marketing Lots <br />2 and 3, Block 5, Riverside West as B-1 Business because of the mixture of <br />zoning in that plat. Therefore, Thorp is requesting approval to rezone the <br />lots to R-1U Residential. <br /> <br />Darryl Fults was present representing Thorp Finance and referred to the <br />Highway #10 Corridor Study which indicates the subject area should be <br />developed with single family residential lots. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Commissioner Shumway directing <br />that Item #11 of the proposed findings of fact indicate that the rezoning <br />will not substantially adversely impair the use or market value of <br />surrounding property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, <br />Howell, Hendriksen, Shumway, Holm and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen <br />directing that Item #12 of the proposed findings of fact indicate that the <br />proposed rezoning will be in accordance with the objectives of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, <br />Howell, Hendriksen, Shumway, Holm and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed only rezoning Lot 3 and retaining Lot 2 adjacent <br />to the church as Business. <br /> <br />Mr. Fults stated that a residential use adjacent to a church is more <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to add <br />Item #15 to the proposed findings of fact as follows: 'That the Applicant <br />has stated that the Highway #10 Corridor Study states that the area in <br />question should be zoned for single family residential development.' <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Howell, Holm, Shumway and Terry.
