Zoning Com'n of Town of Redding, 107 <br />Conn. App. 36, 944 A.2d 360 (2008) <br />CONNECTICUT (04/15/08)—Candace and Christian Benyei <br />owned property in the town (the Property). The Property was located <br />in a residential zone. Farming was a permitted use in the zone. Their <br />residence was on the Property. They also owned and operated a horse <br />facility on the Property since 1973. <br />In July 2005, the Benyeis proposed to build a 12,000 square foot <br />indoor horse ricling arena on the Property. The proposed arena was <br />to be 60 feet from the boundary line of the abutting property owners, <br />the Richardsons. <br />The Richardsons opposed the construction of the arena. They in- <br />sisted that the Benyeis' proposed arena was an expansion of a non- <br />conforming use.
