John Lichter told her that it was too early to request equipment and that right <br />now the Commission has to replace the park. <br /> <br />Merland Otto stated that if the park is going to be ready within a year, now is <br />a good time to request equipment. <br /> <br />Becky Vien said that they would like swings, a slide, and a small ball field. <br />She said that they would like the funds to be there when the park is replaced. <br /> <br />Case ~3 19~8 Parks Improvement Budget. <br /> <br />Greg Anderson, 14235 Waco, told the Commission that he would like some <br />equipment at the Rivers Bend Park because there is nothing for the smaller <br />childern to play on. <br /> <br />Merland Otto suggested calling the Jaycee's or the Lion's and see if they would <br />like to cost share for the equipment. <br /> <br />Debbie Kirkpatrick, 14622 Waco, stated that she didn't think the residents <br />should have to find funding; she feels it should come out of our taxes. <br /> <br />John Lichter suggested that the people submit their request in the form of a <br />petition to the City Council. <br /> <br />At this time Merland Otto went through the 1988 and 1989 Park and Recreation <br />Budget. <br /> <br />John Lichter suggested adding $3,000 for play ground equipment at Titterud <br />Park. <br /> <br />Claudie Dodge suggested budgeting for some tables and chairs. She suggested <br />that users of the building be approached for donations of furniture. <br /> <br />Merland Otto suggested setting some time aside to extend the 5 year improvement <br />budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Rustad and seconded by Commissioner Prall to pass the <br />budget on to the City Council for their approval with the recommendation that <br />they adopt it. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Lichter, Commissioners Hetland, Rustad, <br />Lokker and Prall. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Shumway and <br />Johnson. <br /> <br />The Commission recessed at 8:42. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter called the meeting back to order at 8:53. <br /> <br />Case ~ Information Items <br /> <br />Merland Otto mentioned that North Fork will be proposing a golf course <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/September 15, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
