Commission meeting <br />minutes dated February 2, 1988. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Special Planning and Zoning Commission meeting minutes dated February <br />18, 1988 <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Reviewplanned imp_rovements for River's Bend. Par~. <br /> <br />Merland Otto presented the Commission with a layout for improvements at <br />Central Park. Mr. Otto stated that the City has been awarded a $40,000 <br />LAWCON matching grant for the improvements at River's Bend Park. The State <br />estimates that the proposed improvements amount to $93,000. Mr. Otto made <br />some suggestions for adjustments to the proposed park improvements that <br />will meet LAWCON criteria and bring the improvement costs closer to the <br />$80,000 figure. <br /> <br />Barry Drevlow - 14325 Waco - Inquired as to the size of the proposed soccer <br />field and if it would be fenced. <br /> <br />Gary Anderson - 14235 Waco - Noted that there are a lot of young people in <br />the area and a play area should be included in River's Bend Park. <br /> <br />Ed Ide - 5020 142nd Lane - Inquired if any of the park facilities would be <br />lighted. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto replied that there are no plans to fence the soccer field, provide <br />a play area or lighting at River's Bend Park at this time. <br /> <br />Ed Ide noted that his property is adjacent to the park and if it is not <br />fenced, he is concerned with who would be responsible for damage to his <br />home and property. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter stated that it is possible there will be funds for fencing <br />in the future. <br /> <br />Gary Anderson requested information regarding definite park property lines <br />so that he will know to what point he is responsible for his own yard <br />Park & Recreation Commission/March 10, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
