Page 2 <br /> <br />CASE #1: <br /> <br />CASE #2: <br /> <br />CASE #3: <br /> <br />Review of .plat of River's Bend 2nd Addition with respect to <br /> <br />park dedication requirements <br /> <br />City Council recommends that the park dedication requirements <br />be waived for the plat of River's Bend 2nd Addition. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hetland, seconded by Commissioner Looyen, <br />to waive the park dedication requirements for River's Bend 2nd <br />Addition - motion passed. <br /> <br />Informational Items <br /> <br />Commissioner Lichter asked Merle Mevissen if the Lions Club would <br />be willing to give the city a letter indicating they would be <br />willing to commit some hours of site work, clean up, clearing <br />brush, etc. Additional grant is available Jif the city can get <br />letters from civic organizations committing time. Commissioner <br />Looyen to check with RYAA, others to contact JC'~, 4-H, <br />Rangers, and Snowmobile Club. <br /> <br />Attachments were noted. <br /> <br />Discussion of Park Dedication requirements <br /> <br />Commissioner Lichter asked why they were looking at the survey. <br />Discussion followed, is it on the value of land or buildings. <br />Commissioner Lichter said it looks like a charge for residential <br />than commercial, is consistent with other communities except <br />for Burnsville. Commissioner Lichter asked if it should be tabled <br />until next time, and wants same comparison in notes next time. <br /> <br />PARK COMMISSION INPUT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Lichter had a call from the Mayor requesting they consider <br />naming a park after Art Dussl. Commissioner Lichter indicated the policy <br />is not to name a park after someone while still alive.With the exception <br />of Titterud Park, the others were named after the development. Possibility <br />of naming a field after Dussl at Central Park, Commissioner Hetland said <br />would consider it but not now, other people have also made contributions. <br />Further discussion but no action taken. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lichter asked Merle Mevissen who limes the field - Merle said <br />it is done once a week. Commissioner Looyen had a call from a resident, <br />there are no lights on at the park for games. Merle Mevissen said there is <br />no one to do it, was brought up to city administrator a month ago but no <br />action taken. No one is responsible for turning the lights on and off. <br />Commissioner Hetland said the police department could do it for scheduled <br />games. Merle Mevissen said the police would do it if they are available, <br />they could turn them off when they lock the parks between 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. <br />but may not be able to turn them on.
