<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #15-06-156 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />annually the City employs temporary Seasonal Public Works Maintenance <br />Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works maintenance <br />workers and interns; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the City Council authorized hiring nine Seasonal Public Works Maintenance <br />Workers in May 2015; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, two of the nine employees are no longer employed with the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, staff selected 2 qualified replacement entry level seasonal candidates; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> both candidates passed the pre-employment screening; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> staff recommends hiring the selected 2015 candidates. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt resolution #15-06-156 to hire the following temporary employees: <br /> <br />1) Austin Gordon at $9.50 per hour effective on or near June 18, 2015, and <br />2) Kelsey Field at $9.50 per hour effective on or near June 22, 2015. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Shryock, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Williams <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
