Report <br />Our Mission: To work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient government services <br />July 16, 2015 <br />Tuesday, July 21, 2015 <br />Please Note: the Public Work Committee Meeting has been canceled for July. <br />Council Update <br />Ramsey Open -to -Business Program Update. Anoka County has sponsored all Anoka Cities to <br />join a new "Open to Business Program." This program targets small/ start-up businesses and fills <br />the gap of expertise/ professional consulting/ and opportunities for micro loans that are not <br />typically provided by banks and municipalities. The EDA passed a motion to support this initiative <br />in April. Attached to the Weekly Update is a Breakdown of Activity for the Open to Business <br />Program. NOTE: the City began advertising for this program in May. <br />Ramsey Police Department Citizens Academy. The Ramsey Police Department is excited to <br />announce the first ever Ramsey Police Department Citizens Academy beginning in September <br />2015. Applications are being accepted through August 3, 2015, and class size is limited to a <br />maximum of 16 participants. See attached application for more details! Attached to the Weekly <br />Update is the Ramsey Police Dept Citizen's Academy Application Packet. <br />Fire Department Training. The Anoka/Champlin Fire Department will be hosting a live training <br />burn on July 26th on the buildings adjacent to the Lano Property on Hwy 10. This is the site of the <br />previous trailer park. They have requested and have been granted the use of a hydrant on Rivlyn <br />Avenue for their water supply. Burn will begin in the morning of July 26th <br />Thank You. Attached is a thank you letter from the Anoka County Sheriffs Department for the <br />Ramsey Fire Department's assistance in opening a gun safe. Attached to the Weekly Update is a <br />Thank You Letter from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. <br />Ramsey Celebrates Officially Becoming a Heart <br />Safe Community. The Ramsey City Council, <br />Ramsey Heart Safe staff and the Ramsey Police and <br />Fire Department proudly accepted the official Heart <br />Safe Community Certificate at a City Council award <br />presentation on Tuesday, July 14th, 2015. <br />Mark your Calendars for the 17th Annual Ramsey Happy Days Festival. The City of <br />Ramsey's 17th annual hometown Happy Days festival comes to town on Saturday, Sept. 12th! The <br />Ramsey Happy Days Festival is a community celebration, providing a day full of family friendly <br />entertainment to residents and visitors. The fun this year includes food vendors, live music, a <br />parade, kids activities, fireworks and much more. <br />
