Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #15-07-173 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR 2015 <br />STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM DIVISION A, SEALCOAT IMPROVEMENTS; <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #15-00 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2015 that included $500,000 for <br />sealcoating various public streets as part of the City's annual Street Maintenance Program; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted June 9, 2015, the City <br />Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said <br />improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on July 9, 2015, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />CONTRACTOR <br />BASE <br />ALT. <br />TOTAL <br />BID <br />BID <br />BID <br />Pearson Brothers, Inc. <br />$248,685.50 <br />$6,810.62* <br />$255,496.12* <br />Allied Blacktop Company <br />$288,250.69 <br />$7,317.94 <br />$295,568.63 <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />$262,286.92 <br />$14,871.04 <br />$277,157.96 <br />*= adjusted bid price <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Pearson Brothers of Hanover, Minnesota, in the adjusted amount <br />of $255,496.12 for the base bid plus alternate bid for the construction of said improvements in <br />accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest <br />responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all <br />bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />RESOLUTION #15-07-173 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
