Park & Rec. 6-22-78
Page 2

The capital improvements plan was discussed and outlined by Sam Walz.
A finalized document will be prepared'shortly for consideration by the
Council and inclusion in the Lawcon Grant Application. The application
forms were mailed to the Commission. Sam Walz moved and John Lichter
seconded that the Lawcon application should be referred to the capital
improvements subcommittee for preparation of a grant application. 'The
application is to be prepared by the next Commission meeting.

John Lichter discussed his meeting with the Lions Club. The Lions indi-
cated they would consider providing financial help in constructing the new
Ramsey Elementary ball fields, however, the contribution by the school dis-
trict should be defined first. It was moved by Sam Walz and seconded by ~
John Lichter that Dennis Donovan contact the Mayor and approach the
school district with respect to this question.

Gary Crane and John Berndt appeared before the Commission and requested
that the Commission consider the establishment of a motocross track.
After some discussion it was recommended that Gary and John document
community support for a motocross track in the form of a petition if
possible and present the evidence to the Commission.

At 9:30 P.M. a motion was made to adjoumn by John Lichter and seconded by
Sam Walz.
