PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing in regards to Street Improvement Project #82-2 Rodeo Hills <br />was called to order on Tuesday, April 20, 1982 at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd., Ramsey, Minnesota, at 7:38 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Reporter Eric Sandin <br /> <br />A presentation of Street Improvement Project #82-2 Rodeo Hills was made by <br />City Engineer Raatikka. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed the audience that sewer and water are not proposed for <br />Rodeo Hills for a very long time. He also stated that the police report <br />that paved roads neither increase or decrease the speeding problem. Paved <br />roads do increase the number of childred playing in the streets. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann inquired as to why Outlots A, B, C, and D were eliminated <br />from assessments. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka informed him that these outlots were considered <br />unbuildable until sewer and water become available. <br /> <br />Dave Smith - 6241 180th Lane - Inquired if the estimated cost of $75,000 <br />is high or low and if the assessment can be paid off all at once, and who <br />is responsible for paying for any repair work that has to be done. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka informed Dave Smith that the $75,000 estimate is very <br />close to being right on. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed Dave Smith that the total assessment can be paid within <br />30 days with no interest. He also stated that any damage to the road in <br />the first year will be covered by the contractor, minor repairs will be <br />picked up by the City road crew, and that major repairs and sealcoating would <br />be assessed out to the residents. <br /> <br />Dan Kortuem - 17711 Vanadium - Inquired as to street meeting driveways. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed him that there is a 1' apron to each driveway. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec polled the audience for their feelings on the project. <br /> <br />19 families present -- 13 in favor of project, 6 not in favor. <br /> <br />Sp C/April 20, 1982 <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Page I <br /> <br /> <br />
