PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

A public hearing regarding Street Improvement Project #82-9 for Shady Lawn
Estates was called to order on May 17, 1982 at the Ramsey Municipal Center,
15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota at 7:21 P.M.

Members Present:

Mayor Thomas Gamec
Councilmember Arnie Cox
Councilmember Sue Van Wagner
Councilmember Gary Reimann
Councilmember A1Sorteberg

Also Present:

City Attorney William Goodrich
City Engineer Peter Raatikka
City Building Official Clayton Berg

A presentation of Street Improvement Project #82-9 for Shady Lawn Estates
was made by City Engineer Peter Raatikka.

Rodney Kent - 17000 Yttrium - Stated that he feels maybe it would be best
to obtain a cost study and possibly have the piping installed for gas, water
and sewer previous to blacktopping.

Mayor Gamec informed him that the cost of having piping installed would be
10 times higher than just that of blacktopping. There are no plans to ever
have sewer and water brought out to that area.

Councilmember Cox stated that a Study of this type cannot be performed unless
a petition is brought forth by the majority.

Terry Pedersen 17020 Yttrium - Inquired if any aprons will be provided to
meet driveways.

Mr. Raatikka informed him that a 1' apron will be provided because it is a
rural area.

Lori Larson - 6530 170th - Klemish drives a lot of heavy equipment through
this area.

Mayor Gamec stated that Klemish would be held responsible for any damage
incurred to the road as a result of his equipment using it. He also stated
that most contractors have insurance just for such instances, and if necessary
the City can take the contractor to court.

Councilmember Cox stated that Mrs. Larson had brought up a legitimate point
since Klemish uses the road routinely.

Roger Brown - 6511 170th - Klemish will continue to use the road routinely
because only 3 of his lots are completed so far.

Sp C/May 17, 1982
Public Hearing
Page I
