Mayor Gamec stated that Mr. Gilbertson is probably not present because he feels <br />rental business is a permitted use in a B-1 zone. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to table <br />this case until such time as Mr. Gilbertson can be present at the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Cox and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Case Of Mr. Leo Deschenes: <br /> <br />Refer to Page 6, Paragraph 8, of these minutes for action taken. <br /> <br />Case #3: Temporary Beer And Bingo License, Request For; Case Of Anoka Fire <br /> Department: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />approve of granting the following temporary licenses: <br /> <br />a) Beer license from 12:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., September 12, 1982 at the <br /> St. Anthony Gun Club, City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />b) Bingo license from 10:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M., September 12, 1982 at <br /> the St. Anthony Gun Club, City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The above licenses are to be issued to the Anoka Fire Department, Inc., Anoka, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Cox and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Fireworks Display For The FOurth Of July, Request For; Case Of <br /> Jimmy B's American. ~afe And. Lounge: <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated that the Fire Chief and Fire Marshall feel that <br />Jimmy B's is a poor location for a fireworks display considering the <br />proximity of Hwy. #10, Gateway Airport and McGregor's Restaurant, and further <br />that there are too many requirements to comply with to be ready by the 4th <br />of July. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Cox (for <br />discussion) to disapprove of authorizing Mr. James Brown of Jimmy B's <br />American Cafe and Lounge to have a fireworks display on the Fourth of July <br />during the hours of 9:45 P.M. and 10:00 P.M., on the basis of recommendation <br />from Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Diana Doboszenski - Manager - Jimmy B's - Stated that she has contacted <br /> personnel at the airport and they have agreed to work with Jimmy B's on this. <br /> She further stated that the fireworks will not be set off toward the highway <br />or McGregor's, but rather towards the open field behind Jimmy B's. <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated that he would be in favor of firework displays in <br />the future but that he does not feel there is enough time left to plan a <br />safe display this year.
