The public hearing was closed at 7:13 p.m.

Council Business

Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:13 p.m.

Councihnember Kurak questioned if the house numbers on Sunfish Lake Drive would be
changed, as the cross street would change from 145th Avenue to 146th Avenue.

Police Chief Way indicated the house numbers do not need to be changed. He does not see the
change in the cross street being a problem, as the road is only 3A mile long. There are other
situations like this in the City.

Councilmember Elvig inquired if there is a City policy to reimburse for costs when changes in
street names are required.

Mayor Gamec noted costs for changes in stationary and those types of things can be submitted to
the City. Generally in the one-year time period before the street name is changed residents have
been able to use up their stationary.

Councihnember Strommen inquired of the process for checking the county street name system,
as there have been several of these situations.

City Engineer Jankowski replied the City is responsible for assigning the street names and
addresses and conforming to the county grid system. That responsibility has shifted xvithin the
administration of the City over the past several years and now currently lies with the Plmming
Department.

City Administrator Norman indicated the City recently received a request for reimbursement of
costs with this type of situation, which was related to the change of County Road 116 to Bunker
Lake Boulevard. Those costs were reimbursed.

Motion by Councihnember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to direct staff to
introduce an ordinance to rename 145th Avenue and 146th Avenue within the Sunfish Lake
Estates subdivision to 146th Lane and 147ti' Avenue, respectively.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Pearson, Kurak, Cook, Elvig,
Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

City Council/March 23, 2004
