CC Regular Session 4. 5. <br />Meeting Date: 08/11/2015 <br />By: Grant Riemer, Engineering/Public <br />Works <br />Information <br />Title <br />Approve Replacement of Lift Station #1 Control Cabinet with Total Control Systems at a Cost of $45,105 <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Lift station #1 is located at the intersection of Dolomite St/137th Ave on the Southside of Hwy 10 and was <br />constructed in 1990. As this is our first and oldest lift station, it is in need of technology up -grades that will improve <br />overall operations and reduce after hour call backs, which are quite common with this lift station. <br />Notification: <br />The two property owners directly adjacent to the project will be notified of the construction schedule. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />The replacement of the control panel for lift station #1 first appeared on the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) in <br />2012. The city received quotes from Total Control Systems Inc. and Taylor Electric, with Total Control System Inc. <br />being the lowest quote at $45,105.00. Total Control has worked with the city in the past, developing and <br />maintaining our Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA). Our PW department has been pleased <br />with their past performance and has full confidence in their ability to preform this control panel upgrade. <br />Funding Source: <br />Sewer Utility Fund <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council accept Total Control Systems quote of $45,105.00 for the <br />upgrade/replacement of lift station #1 control panel. <br />Action: <br />Motion to accept Total Control Systems quote of $45,105.00 for the upgrade/replacement of lift station #1 control <br />panel or a motion to accept alternative recommendation based on council discussion.
