COMBINED MEETING <br />TOWN BOARD & PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />August 27, 197~ <br /> <br />Th8 meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. Hopperstad. <br />Present from the Town'Board were Mr. Hopperstad, Mr. Nelson, Mrs. <br />Oliphant and Mr. Reimann. Mr. Cox was ill. Present from the Plan- <br />ning and Zoning Commission were Mr. Sorteberg, Mr. Bodle, Mr. Pitt- <br />man, Mr. Gamec and Mrs. Guy. Also present were Mr. Fricke, Mr. <br />Steffens, and Mrs. Kathleen Anderson, Treasurer. <br /> <br />Discussion on Rodeo Hills Roads. Mr. Raudio had called Mr. Fricke <br />and Mr. Hopperstad about this matter. Mr. Reimann moved we give <br />Mr. Raudio to September 10th to clean the ditches, clean out the <br />culverts and seed the ditches and backslopes, also seeding where <br />the mining was done. Seconded by Mrs. Oliphant. Four votes for <br />the motion and one against. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Dorothy Hanson: Discussion on this matter. Mr. Emmans moved we <br />approve this resolution on the registered land survey on her pro- <br />perty going with the house on the Mississippi River. Seconded by <br />Mr. Bodle. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Bodle moved we approve this resolution when we receive the <br />fee for the charge for our engineer's work of $2~.O5. Seconded <br />by Mr. Nelson. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Steffens will sit in on one of our first Planning meetings. <br />He wants to see how we do things. <br /> <br />Mr. Kaible is working up the orders for the incorporation. Ques- <br />tion: Can we levy taxes as a city? A certified levy should be <br />made in October. Hold off the budgeting until we become a city. <br />Fiscal status, money to come in in 197~, some idea about how much <br />money we can raise this year by the September meeting. <br />District ll has an election on December 10th. <br /> <br />Jerry has talked with Mr. Gesko about the easement we will have <br />in Wild River Estates plat. He wants to spend a couple of hours <br />with our engineer to discuss our sewer system status. State High- <br />way Dept. would entertain a proposal from us on the proposed bridge <br />across the Rum River and the matter of State aid for this bridge. <br />This must be in by November. We will check as to the proper pro- <br />ced~re t'o 'follo~ with regard to sending the sewer plan to the Metro <br />Sewer Board. First item would be the development of the land we <br />have and the other function is What we need to acquire. <br /> <br />Our assessor has resigned as he is going to school and does not have <br />the necessary time for this work due to the increase in our popu- <br />lation. We should be thinking about the qualifications for a new <br />assesor and the possibility of combining with some of the surround- <br />ing communities and getting a full time person. <br /> <br />Our election board is already to go. <br /> <br /> <br />
