RAMSEY TOWN BOARD

CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING ON SUNFISH LAKE BLVD.
March 18, 1974

The hearing was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Chairman,
Mr. Murphy. Mr. Cox explained the new map which was made by
the Anoka County Highway Department with the changes made
according to the wishes of the people living on Sunfish Lake
Blvd.

Some of the people present were unhappy about losing their
trees. The Board said that they were disturbed about the fact
that if this road was built by the Township, it would be assessed
back to the property owners along Sunfish Lake Blvd. The PCA
thru the State has a lot of control over dumps and the trucks
that haul garbage.

Mr. Roger Dickenson asked who gets the $750 fee that the dump
paid this year.

Someone said we might try to assess the garbage trucks.

The County has said they could complete this road by this fall.

The City of Anoka is having Boy Scouts clean up the sides of
the road to the dump. We will call City Hall to remind them to
clean up the sides of the road north of the dump also.

The County already owns a 50 foot right of way on the east side
of Highway No. 57 south of Industry Blvd.

Question: How wide will this road actually be?
Answer: A 4~ foot mat plus ditching and right of way.

Question: Is there any way of straightening out the curve in
the swamp?

Answer: There is 50 feet of peat in the swamp. They would have
to dig out 80 feet of muck, in this curve by the swamp.

Statement: In this curve by the swamp is where most of the acci-
dents occur.

Miller: What kind of a road is going in back of Greenberg's place?
Answer: This is a civit matter because this road has never been
a~cepted by the Township.

Question: What is the speed limit on Sunfish Lake Blvd.? Some-
one went into the swamp last night.

Question: can the pot holes be fixed before the County gets
ready to build this road? We will make a recommendation to Mr.
Redepenny of the County Highway Department on the condition of
this road.
