SPECIAL MEETING OF RAMSEY TOVfN BOARD
July 23, 1973

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Murphy, at
6:30 p.m. Present were Mr. Sha, Township Engineer, Mr. Cox, Mr.
Hopperstad, Mr. Reimann, of Ramsey Township and Mr. Specht, Chair-
man, Mr. Schulte, and Mr. Frank Madsen of Elk River Township Board.

The road between the two townships in the northeastem part of Elk
River Township and the Northwestern part of Ramsey Townshipwas dis-
cussed at length. The concensus of opinion was that at the pre-
sent time, with no further large development expected in the nor-
therly area and being that funds are limited, unless the property
owners benefitting from this road are equally assessed, we would
find it inadvisable at the present time to construct such a road.

Mr. Gram and Mr. Holasek were present with the plat called Prairie-
view on Highway No. 5. The plat had been changed according to
the request of the Town Board. The Board will require an ease-
ment from the Firchau property which is north of this plat and
153rd Ave., east of the existing road to the east end of the plat
(so 66 feet of the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Sec. 23.) Mr. Cox moved
we accept the preliminary plat of Prairieview. Seconded by Mr.
Hopperstad. Motion carried.

Mr. Henry Moos, Chairman, Mr. Ernest Koehler and Mr. Lloyd May,
the Town Board from Burns Township arrived at this point. They
discussed the road in the northwestern part of our Township and
many other matters important to both Townships.

Mr. and Mrs. Mel James and Mr. Huston, their realtor, came to the
meeting about a road across the property they would like to sell
to the School District for an elementary school. The School Dis-
trict wants an all weather road to the property from the east
which would cross two forties. This road would connect Highway
#56 with Sunfish Lake Blvd. The Jameses are willing to give an
easement across these two forties. Mr. Murphy dictated a letter
to the superintendent, Mr. Erling Johnson, in which he stated that
the Township would be willing to make a feasibility study as to the
cost of such a road, which, in case the site is not accepted, the
School District would pay for the feasibility study. After that
time we would have a public hearing for those property owners
westerly of the proposed school site. We would proceed according
to law in providing for this improvement.

Mr. Murphy moved that the Board approve an on sale non-intoxicat-
ing liquor malt license for September 9, 1973 for the Firemen's
Trap Shoot at the St. Anthony Gun Club. Seconded by Mr. Cox°
Motion carried.

There have been complaints on the business operation Jerry Root is
conducting at his home in a residential area in violation of Zoning
Ordinance 73-5. A letter will be written to him instructing him to
cease this business.

There have been complaints about the used bricks and junk on the
property of Mr. Jared Janke, 5803 153rd Ave. N.W. A letter will
be written to him telling him he is in violation of Zoning Ordinance
73-5 and to case business operations in a residential area and to
clean up his junk.
