Executive, Director Nelson reported the TIF legislation for Ramsey was signed into effect this <br />day by the governor. <br />Executive Director Nelson noted the Chair for the HRA must be replaced. This item will be <br />placed on the agenda for June 14, 2011. The Commission thanked Chairperson Jeffrey for his <br />leadership. <br />Executive Director Nelson indicated there will be a meeting with Jim Deal on Thursday of this <br />week. The discussion will entail the remaining outstanding issues. Commissioners Elvig and <br />Backous, and Mayor Ramsey agreed to attend this meeting. <br />Economic Development/Marketing Manager Backman report Allina Clinic is working with <br />Allina Marketing and scheduling a ribbon cutting event. The clinic will open June 6 for patients. <br />A VIP event will be held on Monday, June 27 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. He encouraged <br />Councilmembers, Planning Commissioners and EDA Committee members to attend. <br />Additionally, there will be a public open house on July 23 in the afternoon. <br />Economic Development/Marketing Manager Backman stated he is working with the Anoka <br />County Mediation Services to lease a portion of the former NAU building on Highway 10. <br />Economic Development/Marketing Manager Backman reported he has been working with a <br />prospect in Minneapolis who has been considering moving to Ramsey. To ensure the City is in <br />as strong a position as possible, staff has been in discussion with the State on their participation. <br />The State has tentatively approved a $300,000 forgivable loan to Ramsey and $400,000 in <br />training dollars. <br />COMMISSIONER INPUT <br />Chairperson Jeffrey stated he has enjoyed leading this group. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Chairperson Jeffrey, seconded by Commissioner Backous, to close the regular <br />meeting of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. <br />Motion carried. <br />The regular meeting of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority adjourned at 9:02 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Housing and Redevelopment Authority / May 31, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
