REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEt~TING i/AM(~EY TOWNSHIP <br /> September 20, 1971 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by k~r. Donald <br />borough, the Chairman. Present were Mr. Mumphy, ~.~. Go~hw.~ ~.~. <br />Peterson, Town Clerk. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting of August l?th ~ere read <br />by ~r, Peterson, Mm, ~carborough explained a little .more about <br />the problem of removing Dutch elm diseased trees ~d said he had <br />been quoted a price of $700 per tree ~or a tall elm tree's removal. <br /> <br />Mr. Murphy moved the minutes be accepted as read. <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Discussion on an assessor for Ramsay Township: ~everal people <br />have applied for this position. When the assessor is hired he <br />will be sent to assessors school by the To~,a Board. The charge <br />for this school ia ~145.00. Assessed valuation of Ramsay To,n- <br />ship is ~1,634~000. There are about 180 new homes this year that <br />have to be put on the tax rolls. Last year Ramsay Township <br />were the lowest in the CountyofAnoka. i~~. Gotham moved that the <br />Town Board hold a meeting a week from tonight to select and <br />assessor. He requested that the applicants submit their quali- <br />fications before that time to the Town Board. i~. Murphy seconded <br />the motion. Passed unanimously. Salary for this position is <br />%1500 oer year and mileage is ?~ per mile. An assistant does <br />the book work. <br /> <br />Mr. and M~s. Dunsteen were present and requested a 90 day per~m/t <br />to live in a house trailer on their property while their home <br />i~ being built. Mr. Scarborough moved that the permit be i~sued <br />to them for 90 days with temporary facilities and ~300 check be <br />left with the clerk and not be cashed. £~. Gorh~ ~eeonded the <br />motion. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Discussion on delinquent fire bills. Richard May had a bill <br />~150.00 for a fire in his ca~ on June 20, 1971. The call was made <br />to the fire department by the Anoka County Sheriff*s office.. His <br />address is Rt. #1~ Elk River. The Dickenson Bus Co. had a trash <br />fire on May 11~ 1971 which has not been paid. Mr.. Gorham.~oved <br />we send each of these people a letter and if they do not pay to <br />then turn it ove~ to the Anoka County sheriff's office for collec- <br />tion. Seconded by F~. Murphy. Motion passed. <br /> <br />On the abaudonment of the road by the ~chake property, the legal <br />description given at the last Town Board meeting was not tho same <br />as the one given, to the Zoning Commission so the To~ Boa~d <br />quested the Zoning Commission to get the correct legal descrip- <br />tion and then this matter should be published twice in the paper <br />before action is taken on same., <br /> <br /> <br />
