1) Mr. Roger Buchanan - Mr. Buchanan stated that between his <br /> job and the City Charter Commission, he does not have the time <br /> regular <br /> to serve on the Airport Commission. <br /> <br /> of the are~l Mr. Dick Martin - Mr. Martin stated that he is moving out <br /> <br /> Accordingly, the City Council will have to appoint two new members. Keep <br /> in mind that these should not be pilots, as we would like to keep a balanced <br /> Commission. The Airport Commission would like to have these members <br /> appointed at this time so that they could be in attendance at the September <br /> 21, 1983 meeting. <br /> <br /> Council Action: Your action will be to nominate two persons to serve on <br /> the Airport Commission to fill the present vacancies. The following proposed <br /> motion is hereby submittedj~%r~our consideration: <br /> <br /> Motion by ~ to appoint the following persons to the Airport <br /> Commission: <br /> ~~-~ 1) ~two year term expiring December 30, 1985 <br /> ~/~- ~'-2)/ff~ ; one year term expiring December 30, 1984 <br /> Further, that a copy of Council Resolution 983- be furnished to <br /> the above named newly appointees. -- <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Voting yes . <br /> Voting no . <br /> <br /> b) Adoption of Resolution Establishing Tasks of Airport Commission <br /> - The Council motion that created the Airport Commission on July 27, 1983 <br /> out important are as <br /> left <br /> items <br /> which <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> 1) Establishing task of the Airport Commission <br /> 2) Adopting of an Ordinance as we have done on the rest of our <br /> Commissions <br /> 3) Establishing length of appointment for the first two years <br /> and thereafter each appointee will serve a three year term <br /> <br /> I might add that Commissionmembers do want to know what their tasks will <br /> be. They would like to know for their meeting of September 21, 1983. <br /> <br /> Council Action: Your action will be to adopt a resolution which covers <br /> the above areas. Enclosure (D2-k) contains the proposed resolution <br /> establishing the tasks of the Airport Commission. The following proposed <br />~~ motion is hereby submitted for your consideration: <br /> Motion by and seconded to adopt Resolution <br /> #83- , a resolution establishing the tas~of the Airport Commission, <br /> <br />establishing the length of appointments for first and second years <br />and directing that an ordinance be prepared regarding the establishing <br />of the Airport Commission.
