Act~' '

The Anoka County. job Training Center has been appointed as the
Employment Administrator for 'the Minnesota Emergency Employment
Development (M.E.E.D.) Act within the County of Anoka. (See
attached M.E.E.D. Act Summary.)

We expect that funds will be available to create 500 temporary
jobs (6 months/full-time, or 12 months/part-time) over the next
fourteen months. We need your help to develop these jobs. The
program is scheduled to begin to refer applicants for interviews
in the first weeks of August.

This is your opportunity to staff various new projects that may
have been cancelled or delayed because of recent budget cuts.
It is also an opportunity to add new functions to existing pro-
grams or projects within those public sectors that are now expe-
riencing growth. CAUTION: M.E.E.D. funds are not intended to
be used to fill existing positions that happen to be vacant at
the present time.

If you have jobs in mind that can be filled by a M.E.E.D. appli-
cant, fill out the enclosed preliminary position description, and
return it to the Job Training Center, to the attention of
Jan Magree.

If you have questions about how you can use the program in con-
junction with other programs or future expansion plans, call
Jan Magree, 571 - 8500, to discuss the possibilities.

JV:dh
Enc.

Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
