TC4 Windows and Doors <br />• Maximize window area and design <br />diversity along street front facades <br />• Provide windows into below grade <br />levels that extend more than 3 feet <br />above grade <br />• Provide recessed entries wherever <br />possible <br />• Use clear glass for all windows and <br />doors — mirrored, reflective or highly <br />tinted glazing is discouraged <br />• Provide primary access doors facing <br />public streets <br />TC4 Materials <br />• Provide a diverse mix of materials, <br />applied in a variety of proportions, <br />exposures and detailing within a block, <br />or along a street <br />• Encourage durable, high quality <br />materials - local sources if available <br />• Encourage the use of brick, stone and a <br />variety of high quality materials <br />• Discourage the use of vinyl siding; <br />large expanses of continuous siding is <br />discouraged <br />• Include smaller scale elements, variety <br />of materials and careful detailing that <br />appeal to pedestrian activities; material <br />or color changes should occur at these <br />elements <br />• Horizontal material changes should only occur at inside corners or should return 8' of <br />any wall <br />• 35% of non -glazed street front wall are should be brick unless building design is <br />enhanced through other means such as covered porch areas, broken roof lines, <br />articulated facade and material or color changes. <br />Ramsey Town Center Development Guidelines 29 <br />
