The City of Ramsey respectfully offers the
following information in response to your comment memo, including the attached modified preliminary
engineer's estimate for the above -referenced project.
The modified preliminary engineer's estimate includes expected cost splits and participation based on
MnDOT's Cost Participation Policy. The estimated construction cost spilt percentages are identified
within each funding section heading. The City understands that design engineering and right-of-way /
easement acquisition costs will be local costs. We also understand that up to 8% of the construction
costs for contract administration, construction inspection, surveying and materials inspection are eligible
for cooperative agreement funding, and have included these costs in the modified engineer's estimate.
The City does not anticipate the need to purchase easements or right-of-way for the proposed project,
but in the event such acquisitions are necessary the City understands that easements and right-of-way
must be acquired before plans are submitted for final Central Office review.
The City confirms that no new sidewalks or trails are proposed to be constructed with this project.
The City acknowledges that the eastbound right turn lane along TH 10 at Traprock Street will be
removed as part of this project.
The City acknowledges that information for the RTMC fiber optic cable and vaults will be obtained and
included in the plans as requested.
Lastly, a State Aid number will be pulled for this project if the City determines that State Aid funding
will be used to fund a portion of the local costs.
It is our mission to work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient government services.
