Mr. Johnson <br />presented on behalf of M~. Purvian. Thirty-four acre parcel. Pre- <br />liminary discussion. General concensus of Commission that lots should <br />not cross Trott Brook, land along Trott Brook should be dedicated to <br />legal maximum of 13% and balance should be acquired by City through <br /> <br />negotiation. The latter would amount to approximately four additional <br />acres. <br /> <br />7. Proposed subdivision on Mississippi River was discussed. Commission <br />again indicated its position that at least 200' of river frontage must <br />be included in park dedication as part of regular requirements. This <br />dedication is consistent with the Commissions plan regarding Mississippi <br />River park development. <br /> <br />8. Status of Ramsey School Ballfields. Commission members expressed <br />disappointment with progress on ballfields. Motion to request City <br />Administrator to direct City maintenance to reseed ballfields and <br /> <br />carry out whatever else is necessary to ready ballfields for use next <br /> <br />spring. Further, City Administrator should be requested to report back <br />to the Park Commission on progress of said project. Moved by Walz <br />seconded by Johnson. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. Hockey Rink at Ramsey School. It was indicated that City Council <br />was favorably disposed to project. Chairman to contact City Administrator <br />to see that this project along with acquisition of net mats for warming <br /> <br />house are done this fall. <br /> <br />10. AYAA concerns. ~. Kempf, representing Ramsey group of AYAA, <br />was at meeting to determine if progress had been made on their request <br />from last meeting. (see item #5) <br /> <br />11. D.N.R. proposal for White Pines River Park. Mr. Masterson indi- <br />cated that D.NoR. would be willing to provide materials for the develop- <br />ment of primitive campsites for canoists at White Pines River Park. <br />The proposal is consistent with the Commission's plans for White Pines <br />River Park and would relieve pressure from Brookview Park from canoeists. <br />The City's only requirement will be to install and maintain it. After <br />lengthy discussion, it was moved by Johnson to recommend to City Council <br />that attached agreement be entered into with D.N.R. for the development <br /> <br />of the lower portion of White Pines as a River Canoe Park. Seconded by <br /> <br />Walz. Motion carried. It was noted that D.N.R.'s expenditures could <br />be used as matching funds for future LAWCON projects. <br /> <br />12. Resignation of Doris Irvine. Commission to recommend acceptance of <br />her resignation and advertisement to accept nominations for vacancy <br />created by said resignation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13.
