Mr. Johnson presented on behalf of M~. Purvian. Thirty-four acre parcel. Pre- liminary discussion. General concensus of Commission that lots should not cross Trott Brook, land along Trott Brook should be dedicated to legal maximum of 13% and balance should be acquired by City through negotiation. The latter would amount to approximately four additional acres. 7. Proposed subdivision on Mississippi River was discussed. Commission again indicated its position that at least 200' of river frontage must be included in park dedication as part of regular requirements. This dedication is consistent with the Commissions plan regarding Mississippi River park development. 8. Status of Ramsey School Ballfields. Commission members expressed disappointment with progress on ballfields. Motion to request City Administrator to direct City maintenance to reseed ballfields and carry out whatever else is necessary to ready ballfields for use next spring. Further, City Administrator should be requested to report back to the Park Commission on progress of said project. Moved by Walz seconded by Johnson. Motion carried. 9. Hockey Rink at Ramsey School. It was indicated that City Council was favorably disposed to project. Chairman to contact City Administrator to see that this project along with acquisition of net mats for warming house are done this fall. 10. AYAA concerns. ~. Kempf, representing Ramsey group of AYAA, was at meeting to determine if progress had been made on their request from last meeting. (see item #5) 11. D.N.R. proposal for White Pines River Park. Mr. Masterson indi- cated that D.NoR. would be willing to provide materials for the develop- ment of primitive campsites for canoists at White Pines River Park. The proposal is consistent with the Commission's plans for White Pines River Park and would relieve pressure from Brookview Park from canoeists. The City's only requirement will be to install and maintain it. After lengthy discussion, it was moved by Johnson to recommend to City Council that attached agreement be entered into with D.N.R. for the development of the lower portion of White Pines as a River Canoe Park. Seconded by Walz. Motion carried. It was noted that D.N.R.'s expenditures could be used as matching funds for future LAWCON projects. 12. Resignation of Doris Irvine. Commission to recommend acceptance of her resignation and advertisement to accept nominations for vacancy created by said resignation. Motion carried. 13. Meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
