P&R -3-
9/27/78

Lions Club Contributions

The commission considered the possibility of using lion's club monies
if available for tot lots or creative play centers. However, at present
we don't feel we have an appropriate site. Other possibilities include
ball diamond backstops amd development of the Titterud Park.

Municipal Golf Course

The council was contacted by the Cit.y Administrator regarding the possi-
bilit.y of studying the feasibility oa a municipal golf course. The
council indicated that no study should be undertaken at this time.

Park Dedication Fee

Dennis Donovan and John Lichter attended a planning and zoning commission
meeting on August 21, 1978. Some P & Z commission members suggested that
the present park dedication fee formula is unfair to owners selling
property in the rural service area. Chairman Donovan obtained summary
of park dedication formulas compiled by the City of Blaine for other
communities in the metropolitan area. Reviewing Ramsey's' formula with
respect to other communities indicates that the present dedication fee
compares favorable to similar communities. The P & R commission feels
that no changes in the dedication fee formula are justified at this time.

The commission requests the the city administration to investigate the
possibility of acquiring easem6m~ or property along the proposed trail
between Ramsey Elementary School and Ramsey Terrace Park.

Meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m,
