Page 2
Park & Recreation Minutes
February 16, 1978

Committee decided it is necessary to obtain some cost estimates before
proceeding with details of orientation of fields, amount of equipment
we might recommend or dispense with.

Doris Irvine is to submit our three field plan to Phil Nereson for
assistance in obtaining costs of:

1) Surface preparation
2) Quantity and cost of agra lime
3) Quantity and cost of black dirt of hydro mulch
4) Cost of equipment installation
5) Cost and/or availability of city manpower.

Committee reviewed Phil Nereson memo of February 16. Darrell Jensen
requested Committee members give some thought for maintenance and minor
improvements for the park system for 1978. This will be discussed at
March meeting and hopefully will have something to submit.

Commission discussed value of a tour of entire Ramsey Park System as a
group. It was decided to wait for a full complement of members and in
a month or two weather would be warmer and snow gone.

Committee was provided a copy of 1978 budget and 1977 expenditures.
Committee does not know breakdown, committments, fixed expenses, or
back ground of budget but determined we would proceed with plans that
might reasonably fit into figures provided.

We discussed mechanics of how we might obtain information regarding
developers providing park space or money during the year if this can
be anticipated or budgeted ahead. Does the Park Commission have a
meeting with developer sometime prior to City final approval?

Doris Irvine will try to set a meeting with City Administrator regard-
ing some of these questions.

The commission would be interested in meeting the Director of Community
School Program. He will be invited to one of our meetings in near
future.

Darrell Jensen will further investigate terms of land lease agreement
with the school so a recommendation may be made regarding the lease
at the time of final presentation of plans to Council.

John Zobava motion to adjourn. Dennis Donovan seconded.

Meeting adjourned 10:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Doris Irvi ne
