PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE AN <br />INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Thc City cun'ently contracts with Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS) for <br />network administration and desktop support services. Included in the 2004 budget was a <br />new position, Information Technology Manager, which would replace LOGIS. In <br />February 2004 the IT Manager position was advertised. Approximately 35 applications <br />were received and six candidates were interviewed. Based on the interview panel's <br />review, staff is recommending that Dean Busch be hired for the IT Manager position. <br /> <br />Staff' Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Dean Busch for the position of full-time IT Manager at a starting <br />salary of $57,960, plus benefits. Mr. Busch's appointment is contingent upon successful <br />completion of criminal background and reference checks and passing a pre-employment <br />physical and drug screen. With Council approval, Mr. Busch's start date will be May 17, <br />2004. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend Dean Busch for the position of full-time IT Manager at a starting <br />salary o f $57,960, plus benefits contingent upon successful completion of criminal <br />background and reference checks, a pre-employment physical, and a drug screen. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />PC: 04/27/04 <br /> <br /> <br />
