to do the job whether they are seen in the best light or not but he thought it had a good effect <br />locally. <br />Elk River Police Chief Nierenhausen stated their police officers have been advised to change <br />some of their tactics and not let their guard down. He thought they both benefit from working in <br />communities that are considered bedroom communities which generates more appreciation for <br />law enforcement and people like to see that they are there. <br />Ramsey Mayor Strommen asked if there are trends they are seeing that both communities are <br />seeing. <br />Ramsey Police Chief Katers stated their calls for service are more quality of life calls than in the <br />past. They are not going to all criminal calls. <br />Elk River Police Chief Nierenhausen stated they are seeing more quality of life calls and seeing <br />stabilization for calls but are seeing calls requiring two and three officers for service. The <br />potential for severity is there which requires two or three officers' response so it is balance the <br />manpower needs with what they are being asked to do. He thought that is going to be a trend <br />that will rise over the coming years. <br />Ramsey Police Chief Katers stated the complexity of the calls are increasing and it takes more <br />people to solve some of these crimes. <br />3.08 Other <br />Ramsey Mayor Strommen asked if there were any other issues that needed to be brought up. <br />Hearing none, Ramsey Mayor Strommen thanked the staff from both cities for putting the <br />agenda together and thought it was really helpful to get together from time to time and share the <br />information and have discussion. She thanked the Councils from both cities for participating and <br />a special thanks to Elk River for coming to Ramsey for the meeting. <br />Elk River Mayor Dietz echoed the thoughts and felt they should do it again soon. <br />4. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Mayor Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Riley, to adjourn the Work Session <br />meeting. <br />The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitte <br />Kurds G.
