Police Department: Mike Auspos, Police Chief, asked if the City <br />wants 16 hour or ~ hours policing per day. Present budget is $31,550. <br />When he was asked, Mr. Auspos indicated he felt we should have 16 <br />hour coverage in the near future. If we keep our own records, there <br />will be increased costs here. Mr. Cox feels we should wait until <br />Mr. Walker takes up his position before making a decision on this <br />matter. <br /> <br />We will schedule the next meeting at th_~ We will also sche- <br />dule the Police Reserve Unit for 7:00 p.m. at that meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. ~ckelson moved: to adopt Ordinance 75-12 which is an Ordinance <br />entitled "An ordinance amending ordinance No. 73-5 which is known <br />as "an ordinance to regulate the location, height, bulk, size of <br />structures, the size of yards and other open spaces, the density of <br />population and the use of land and buildings for residence, trade, <br />industry, recreation and other activities by establishing standards <br />and procedures regulation such uses to help promote the public health, <br />safety and general welfare" by amending a certain zoning district as <br />shown on the City of Ramsey Zoning map" and which deals with the re- <br />zoning requested by the Carson-Holm plat developers. Seconded by <br />Mr. Gorham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />~ee~.& Tree Inspector's Reoort. Mr. Bacon wants to know if he can <br />hire someone on a neighborhood basis to help him paint trees. Mr. <br />Auspos suggested getting someone from the landscaping department <br />at the Tec. Center to help. Mr. Bacon estimated 30 hours per neigh- <br />borhood with four neighborhoods or about 120 hours. He wants to <br />include himself on the hourly basis. Suggestion was $2.50 per hour, <br />and up to 60 hours on this program over and above his regular salary. <br />Mr. Mickelson moved the foregoing program be adopted for the weed <br />and tree inspecting program. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Motion car- <br />ried 5 to O. Mr. Bacon asked if he could get an airplane to to take <br />him to look over the City. Cost is $17.50 per hour for an aerial <br />view. Mr. Steffen asked if a Councilman would like to go along to <br />make a map or take pictures. ~r, ~orham mover we authorize Mr. <br />Bacon to fly over our area on Tuesday, Aug. 26th, for a period of <br />one or more hours at the rate of $17.50 per hour. Seconded by Mr. <br />Reimann. Motion carried 5 to O. <br /> <br />Discussion on Commercial Area: With regard to the Fricke, Steffen, <br />Goodrich Planning Proposal, it was determined that Mr. Fricke would <br />be doing the basic mapping and Mr. Steffenand Mr. Goodrich would <br />get the ordinances ready and accepted by the appropriate state and <br />regulatory agencies. Suggestions were Tooker, Midwest, Mason, ~ehr- <br />man & Chapman and the Ham Lake planner. There will be a meeting on <br />September 18, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall to review planning <br />proposal applications for the southeast corner of the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Mickelson left the meeting at 8:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Casper~ Explained the need for a car radio. If the Council <br />agrees, he will get prices on a car radio. They will also check <br />with the County. Mr. Casper was instructed to get a badge. <br /> <br /> <br />
