PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY COUNCIL <br />ON IMPROVEMENT OF 153rd AVE. N. W. <br /> <br />The hearing was called to order by Mayor Cox at 7:00 p.m. Present <br />were Mr. Gorham, Mr. Reimann, and Mr. Mickelson. Mr. Sha-and.Mr. <br />Raatikka were also present. The road in question is 400 feet east <br />of Co. Road 47 and continues west to County Road 5 and straightens <br />out the intersection. The original project was studied in 1953. <br />A feasibility study updated it once since that time. As a city we <br />are eligible for State Aid Funds. We will need another 18 feet on <br />the west end and 30 feet east of this section. Total project cost <br />Phase I with 3" Class V is $62,587.50. Later when facilities are in <br />it would be blacktopped. The cost for paving would be $180,575. <br />For urban section the cost woul~ be $153,119. People living on the <br />north side would be assessed 50~ ~per front foot. Assessment would <br />be $200 per acre for the commercial property on the south side. <br />This project is proposed to get school buses across from 5 to 47 <br />on 153rd Ave. Abutting.residential property would raise $2,200. <br />Commercial property would be assessed $12,852.00 State Aid Building <br />Funding would pay $47,535.50. It takes 90 days to condemn property <br />for a road. Ninety days from today they could possibly start build- <br />ing this road. <br /> <br />Mr. Kempf asked what is your definition of utilities? Answer: Sewer, <br />possibly water and storm sewer. Sewer possibly wouldn't come for <br />five years. <br /> <br />Mr. Kempf: What is proposed for the building on 153rd, formerly <br />owned by Mr. Hopperstad: Answer: It would only take a few feet. <br />Mr. Kempf: Will there be traffic signs at this intersection of <br />153rd and 47? Answer: This is determined by the State Highway <br />Department. <br /> <br />Mr. Firl: 153rd east of 47 is in pretty bad shape. Mr. Sha: Are <br />there mostly side lots on 153rd? This is the next project on the <br />State Aid Funding but now there aren't enough funds to do this work <br />at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox asked if there were any further comments.
