For the oral examination we had three examiner who each asked a set <br />question, s of each applicant. Each interviewer th~?n recorded his comments <br />on a sheot of paper bearing the applicants nam~ and also entered a score <br />ranging ~rom ~r~ to one hundred. This then gave each applicant three <br />oral scores. <br /> <br />The re~:ults o~ the written test were then changed to a percentage based on <br /> <br />100 ~ts were the ora]. scores, l,~en these 6our percentages were ~veraged <br /> <br />~or each I:ersor~: that result was the final score (rounded off to the <br /> <br />neares[~ tenth). <br /> <br />The I;~.:rsons mor~itoring the ~,~itten tests were Ed Nore!~, from our Po!ice <br />Co~mm~ttee~ Duke Carlson~ also from the Police Committee and Beverly Oliphan'[,: <br />Cou~c:~?erso~'~. The inter?~ewers for the oral were Ga~ Re~manu~ Counci]~person~ <br />L~rr~ Petersot~, Anoka Police Peserve and Tom Duggan~ Mpls. Police Juvenile <br />])ivision. At no time did any officer from the ~msey Police, including myself, <br />participate i~ the administering of the written or oral tests or in the <br />qt~esticning for the oral phase. <br /> <br />I would [~il.? to express our public th~nks to above named persons for their <br />assistance Jn the c~cation o6 this unit~ they did a fine job. I would also <br />like to ~awe entered into the minutes my appreciation and congratulation to <br />Officer D~ve Gusta6son for his efforts in thc setting up of the testing and <br />training procedures for the l!eser~es. He Fut in many more hours then he <br />paid ~.'o~' ;_:nd thanks to bit,': everything wen-[ smoothly.
