PUBLIC HEARING HELD BY THE RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL
May 12, 1975

Rezonin8 South of .Highw..aM No. 10

The hearing was called to order at 6:45 p.m. by the Mayor, Mr.
Cox. Present were Mr. Gorham, Mr. Reimann, and Mr. Mickelson.
Mrs. Oliphant was absent. Mr. Goodrich was also present.

This meeting was being held pursuant to Sec. 8.5 of the Zoning
Ordinance. A notice about this hearing was published in the Anoka
Union on May 2, 1975. A written notice was given to landowners
within 350 feet of the affected rezoning area. The notice included
a map of the area. A map on the wall showed the area being con-
sidered for rezoning and Attorney Goodrich described the various
items on the map.

Duke Grosslein: They own to the end of the yellow area to Rivlyn
Ave. His objection is that the description of the property as
shown should be to Rivlyn Ave. and not cut his property in half.
Merle Anderson: From the view of the residents living on Rivlyn
Ave. on both sides of the street, it appears to them that this is
a reasonable map. They have been trying to get this zoning brought
back to the way it was before the rezoning of the entire City in
May of 1973 when their residential property was put in a commercial
area thru an error. He said these people had bought this land
within the last 15 to 20 years as residential and they wanted it
put back that way. Six people from this area were present: Duke
Grosslein, Arthur Bulow, Merle Anderson, Roger and Minnie Dicken-
son, and Roger Hedstrom. Mr. Dickenson and Mr. Bulow said they
had not received their letters. The letters had been mailed to
them. Mr. & Mrs. Dickenson do not want their commercial land
south of the piano shop to the river changed to residential be-
cause this land has been commercial for thirty years. Mr. Dicken-
son said he lives the closest to this land and his is the only
house by the area. Mr. Reimann moved we extend this hearing to
Tuesday, May 27, 1975 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Elementary School.
Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. We will not readvertise but will make
an effort to notify people who may not have gotten their notices.
Mr. Cox, Mr. Gotham, Mr. Reimann and Mr. Mickelson voted yes. Mrs.
Oliphant abstained from voting.

Mr. Cox declared the hearing closed at 7:25 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
