After 27 years on the Fire Department and 23 years as Chief, Dean <br />Kapler has formally announced his retirement to occur on or before March 1, 2016. The City has <br />benefitted greatly by his leadership of the Fire Department and we wish Dean well in his upcoming <br />retirement. Staff will work the HR Manager to put together a plan for finding a successor, to be <br />reviewed with the Council at an upcoming meeting. Attached to the Weekly Update is Fire Chief <br />Kapler's Letter of Resignation. <br />
