In addition to the protected waters list, the Mississippi River has a designated <br />Critical Area Corridor and the Rum River is designated as a Wild & Scenic <br />Outstanding Resource Value Water (see Figure 6 — Parks Map). <br />2. Shoreland <br />In order to control the development and utilization of shoreland along protected <br />waters thereby preserving the water quality, natural characteristics, economic <br />values and the general health, safety and welfare, the following waters in the city <br />limits have been given a shoreland management classification. These protected <br />waters within the city limits have been classified by the Commissioner of Natural <br />Resources as follows: <br />Natural Environment Lakes DNR I.D. # <br />1. Industry Avenue Pond North 2-118 <br />1. <br />2. <br />General Development Streams Locations <br />Trott Brook <br />Ford Brook <br />Sections 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, T32N, R25W <br />Sections 1 & 2, T32N, R25W <br />The above shorelands of the city are designated as a Shoreland Overlay District. <br />The purpose of the Shoreland Overlay District is to control the utilization of <br />shoreland areas and to preserve the quality and natural character of these <br />protected waters within the City. The shoreland overlay districts are shown on <br />the City's Mississippi/Rum River Overlay Districts Map. Boundaries of the <br />overlay districts can be determined by scaling distances off the official <br />environmental overlay map. <br />All wetlands on the National Wetlands Inventory map are shown on Figure 7. <br />The National Wetlands Inventory Map is not all inclusive, wetlands exist in the <br />City of Ramsey that are not shown on the map.
