Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #15-11-276 <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, the Crime Prevention Specialist departed City employment in July 2015; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at the June 23, 2015 City Council work -session, the consensus of the City <br />Council was to direct staff to fill the vacancy with a sworn officer; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Jesse Duerksen has been selected as the top candidate for the Patrol <br />Officer position; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending <br />that Mr. Jesse Duerksen be hired as the City's new Patrol Officer, effective December 1, 2015, at <br />$23.44 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2015 wage scale; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Jesse Duerksen will be subject to a 1 -year probationary period and all <br />other personnel policies will apply normally. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution 415-11-276, to hire Mr. Jesse Duerksen as the City's new <br />Patrol Officer effective on or near December 1, 2015 at $23.44 per hour, which is step <br />of the 2015 wage. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Williams, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Williams <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Shryock <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
