CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> Whereas, the City of Anoka maintains and operates a land fill within <br />the corporate boundaries of the City of Ramsey, and <br /> <br /> Whereas, the City of Anoka and the former Township of Ramsey entered <br />into a contract many years ago regarding the operation of said land fill, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the City of Ramsey has recently become incorporated, and ~ <br /> <br /> Whereas, many questions over the years have arisen regarding the operation <br />of said land fill, some of which are as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. What materials are authorized to be disposed of in the <br /> land fill ? <br />2. What, ii any, plans have been made for the discontinuance <br /> of the land fill and the land use when it has been filled <br /> to capacity? <br />3. ]{ave ~non[torinq wells been installed? [[ so, to what <br /> c.~xLcu~ ancJ to whom are the test results from such <br /> monitoring wells reported ? <br />4. What are the test results from the above-mentioned <br /> monitoring wells ? <br />5. If contamination of the surrounding residential water <br /> supply has been, or will be in the near future contaminated, <br /> where does the responsibility lie and where will funding <br /> be derived from for remedy of t..he situation? <br />6. If it is necessary to cause municipal sewer to be put into <br /> the area as a result of the land fill operation, where does <br /> the responsibility lie and where will the funding for such <br /> be derived from. <br /> <br /> Whereas, the City Council City of Ramsey has the above plus numerous <br />other questions regarding the operating, maintenance and existen6'~ of the land <br />fill, <br /> <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the City of Ramsey requests an <br />opportunity to discuss this matter with the City Commission City of Anoka or its <br />designated representative and that such discussions and negotiations be had <br />prior to the City o[ Anoka entering into new ].and fill operating contracts with any <br />firm ,person or corporati~no <br /> <br /> PASSED by the City Council, <br />the 30th d~y of November, 1974. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />City of Ramsey, at a special meeting held on <br /> Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
