Ramsey Parkway, requests an <br />Interim Use Permit for the placement and use 0fportable and temporary classroom trailers on and <br />near the West Parking lot, combined with partial occupancy of the new school bu!Iding to operate <br />school prior to completion and full Certificate of Occupancy (CO) of the building. The school <br />will operate with approximately 540 students and 60 staff, besides visitors. See attached drawings <br />showing the location of the site within the Ramsey Town Center, PACT Charter School site plan, <br />building plans ( 1 st floor and 2na floo0, portable classroom trailer layout plan for the west parking <br />lot, and architectural and unofficial draft plans for classrooms and office spaces within the <br />gymnasium and neighboring rooms. <br /> <br />AMCON Construction Company, Inc. has committed to complete the.facility bY October 15, <br />2004 and will attempt to complete prior to this date. PACT Charter School, however, cannot wait <br />to operate the school until October 154 and so will start classes on or about September 7, 2Q04. <br />To meet this timeline, temporary classrooms need to be operational from August through October <br />2004. ~n preparation for this expected gap in schedules, PACT Charter. School seeks to meet the <br />school's occupancy needs with these plans: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />Rent and place portable trailer classroom units on the school site. The school needs 22 .. <br />classrooms or equivalent within appropriate trailer units, to be located on or near the west <br />parking lot (see site plans). Units will be set up at the beginning of August and taken down <br />upon Full .Occupancy. These units will be placed so that emergency vehicles have adequate <br />access to all units. Trailer units will comply with city requirements. Supplemental services <br />such as wash stations and fresh water drinking stations will be placed in various units. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Occupy the gymnasium wing of the new facility, within which classrooms and staff office <br />space will be set up to operate the school (see building plan drawings). The music room <br />through utility room will remain off-limits to the school until the facility is completed. School <br />staff and students will occupy the following spaces: Classrooms if 190 and 191; Classrooms <br />and office spaces will be set up within the gymnasium using modular office wall units to <br />divide the space and provide power and data; Locker room offices, adjacent storage space, <br />and thc locker rooms will be available to serve school needs. Four completed restrooms next <br />to the gymnasium will be available to service the school's restroom needs. Access to this <br />wing will be through the west entry.
