PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station No. 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:04 <br />p.m, <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Authorization to Hire an Information Technology Manager <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed presented the case to hire an IT Manager and explained that <br />this is a new position in the 2004 budget to replace services currently provided by LOGIS. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson inquired about the cost of services currently provided by LOGIS. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson responded that approximately $73,000 was budgeted for <br />2004 to cover the costs of IT support with LOGIS. This represents two, eight-hour days a week <br />of IT support. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Kurak to recommend <br />Dean Busch for the position of full-time IT Manager at a starting salary of $57,960, plus benefits <br />contingent upon successful completion of criminal background and reference checks, a pre- <br />employment physical, and a drug screen. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Cook, Pearson and Kurak. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Consider Authorization to Hire an Engineering Technician II <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed presented a case to hire an Engineering Tech II. This is a new <br />position in the 2004 budget. An internal recruitment process took place and the interview panel <br />recolnmended hiring Aaron Madsen, current Public Works Maintenance Worker, for the <br />position. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/April 27, 2004 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
