Civil Engineer 11 Linton responded in the affirmative. He explained staff recommends that the <br />program be continued and that the program be better promoted through the Ramsey Resident and <br />City Website and other publications. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Lehman, to recommend the <br />Anoka Aquatic Center contribution continue and staff be directed to better promote the program <br />through the Ramsey Reside~t and City website and other publications. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum emphasized the importance of Ramsey being recognized for their <br />contribution to the Aquatic Center. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns suggested the' fee schedule at the pool list a rate for Anoka and Ramsey <br />residents. She noted there may be Ramsey residents utilizing the pool that do not know about the <br />discount. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood suggested information distributed by Anoka about the <br />Aquatic Center include a statement that Ramsey contributes $4,000 annually for season passes <br />and lessons for their residents. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Lehman, Olds, <br />Ostrum, Pontius and Shryock. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner LaMere. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Walker Route Boundaries for Ramsey Elementary School <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton explained Chairperson Johns previously inquired about the walker route <br />boundaries for Ramsey Elementary School. He questioned the school regarding this and was <br />forwarded to the school website. Civil Engineer II reviewed the boundaries presented on the <br />school website. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns noted a lot of the routing does have trails and the children can get to the <br />schools safely, however, there are likely some holes in the trails. <br /> <br />Elmcrest Park <br /> <br />Civil Engineer 17[ Linton reviewed that the Council author/zed staff to retain an engineering firm <br />to prepare the construction documents for Elm Crest Park. There have been several meetings <br />with Councilor Elvig and the design team to refine the concept. He reviewed the layout and <br />explained staff is working on acquiring an easement to go north up to 167th Avenue, which will <br />be the primary access to the park. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson explained as the CIY was being discussed, the' Council directed the <br />City Admirfistrator to begin negotiations immediately with the property owner to the north. The <br />property owner is John Peterson, and staff met with him on Tuesday of this week.
